Del Mar Fair!!

The San Diego County Fair, formerly known as the Del Mar fair, rolls into town once again. A big part of summer culture here in San Diego, offers it’s visitors with many things to do and see. There are often many shows going on such as home and garden shows. There is also a petting zoo and a barn full of animals to take a look at. With this years theme being “A Salute to Heroes” the County Fair is honoring national and international heroes whether human or animal.

A big reason many come to the fair is for the food. There is a smorgasbord of food with many different tastes. My personal favorite is to throw health to the wind for a day and try all the foods people have decided to cover in batter and throw into a deep fryer. Last year I tried a deep-fried Snickers, deep-fried Oreos, deep-fried Cucumber and a deep-fried Twinkie. There is also the beef brisket which begs for seconds.

After gorging yourself with all the different kinds of foods you can attempt to stomach the many different rides at the fair. That or you can also check out the live shows that go on at the fair. To check out what’s playing on the Grandstand Stage click here. You can catch the likes of Joan Jett, The All-American Rejects, or “Weird Al” Yankovic.

So if you’re in town or have time, make sure to make a trip to go to the San Diego County Fair. It’s a great family and friends experience. Hurry you have till July 4!
