Tokyo Sushi is one of my favorite sushi places. The vibe is very different than any other sushi place in San Diego. Even before entering you can hear the music blaring and it's not Japanese calm music, it's rap and hip hop. It feels like a club in there. But not to stray too far from traditional, they still welcome you in traditional Japanese style. My favorite roll at Tokyo Sushi is their asparagus roll. I love how it's crunchy and dipped in wasabi & soy sauce, it's perfect. If you're not too fond of raw fish definitely try the asparagus and the crunchy tempura roll. The sashimi is served in big portions and really fresh tasting if you're a sashimi fan. At the end, they give you a bit of a cinnamon drink in a shot portion that you can down in one gulp. Great tasting and a perfect end to a great meal. If you're still hungry try the green tea ice cream. This place is great and is usually packed full at night so get there early. A lot of college students stop by before heading other places.
